From L to R: 1) A group
of CHS students on Homeschool Day at the Aquarium of the Pacific,
Long Beach,
2) Our annual Sweetheart Banquet is a
themed event near Valentine's day where our junior
high and high
school students honor their parents (the sweethearts). The kids plan
the menu, prepare and
serve dinner,
decorate, entertain and then
clean up! This year's Pirate theme offered the kids - and
their
parents - a fun, timely costume event.
Mission Statement
CHS seeks to support families in
their home education endeavors and to provide a means of
accountability to fulfill all legal requirements while being
flexible enough to accommodate the individual parents' philosophy of
education for their children. We are considered a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) and serve Christian families
committed to teaching their own children at home.
Founding
Christian
Heritage School was established as a private Christian school in
1991 to provide support, accountability and guidance to home
educating parents in the western Inland Empire and nearby
communities, including Orange County.
Staff and
Enrollment
CHS has
five full-time or part-time paid staff members, but can only operate
with the faithful assistance of many volunteers.
Our office is located in Corona,
California, and we have small groups for support located in Corona
and surrounding communities such as Norco, Riverside, Chino Hills,
Rancho Cucamonga and Yorba Linda. For the 2007-2008
school year, nearly 225 families were enrolled in CHS. Among them,
there were about 275 elementary students and 140 high school pupils.
Thirty-two seniors graduated in 2008.
Statement of Faith
The Bible
makes it clear that parents are responsible to God for our
children's training - spiritually, morally, and academically (Deut.
6:6-9; Prov. 22:6). Our goal is that our children receive the
best education possible while instilling in them a Christian
heritage.
All member
families are in agreement with our statement of faith:
|
We believe in the Scriptures as the final and supreme
authority in faith and life. We believe in the one
God, eternally existing in three persons: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ,
by offering Himself on the cross, paid the penalty for
man's sin, and that we now may enter into the family of
God on the basis of His shed blood. We believe in
the bodily resurrection and imminent return of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that all who
by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the
Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. |
Affiliation
Christian
Heritage School is in agreement with the objectives and goals of
Christian Home Educators Association of California
(CHEA) and is a
proud CHEA support network member.
Home School
Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) membership is required for all CHS
enrolled families.
HSLDA provides quality legal defense for
families who elect to educate their children at home, should they
ever need it. We are able to offer a group discount rate to
our members. If you are homeschooling, whether you choose to
enroll with CHS or not, we strongly encourage membership in
HSLDA.
Please use this link for first time enrollment.
HSLDA
CHS supports Roy Hanson and Jim
Davis with Family Ministries and their work to ensure California
legislation that is favorable to homeschooling. Family
